I’m Emily, Founder of Working Dream Coaching, and this is my story.

My own ADHD diagnosis in adulthood shook up my entire life, especially my professional life as a project manager in the banking sector.

Though diagnosis was a relief, confusion and embarrassment prevailed, so I hid my diagnosis from everyone.

Treatment addressed my symptoms, and for the first time I could think clearly. But I felt stuck, and spinning. I didn’t know how to absorb and integrate my new identity, and I didn’t know where to get help to restructure my life. All I wanted was to finally feel balanced, get things done easier, find satisfying work.

I was desperate for an answer to a single burning question:

“What job can I do with ADHD and actually THRIVE?”

I needed a Coach who understood ADHD. But I couldn’t find one… so I chose to become one. I retrained as an ADHD Coach, and I started Working Dream Coaching.

And what a transformative leap it was. It was not an overnight fix. But through learning how to help others, I helped myself.
I was able to process what having ADHD meant for me, and how to tell people. I learned how to manage the disorderly aspects of my own ADHD, and how to maximize its huge advantages. I redesigned my life, and found fulfilling work that I never dreamed I’d find. Work that is aligned with my natural strengths, that energizes me every day.

Today, I‘m dedicated to supporting people who are asking themselves:

“How on earth can I thrive with ADHD?”

Whoever you are - a young mum, a CEO, with diagnosis, or with a nagging feeling that you have a number of ADHD traits, we can work together to help you understand how your brain is wired and how to use that to your advantage, and to ensure that you’re not just surviving, you are THRIVING.

My Approach

ADHD Coaching differs from life Coaching because it includes two additional elements: ADHD Education, and use of specific techniques to approach the tasks you find difficult, painful or boring, from a different angle, more geared to your strengths and unique brain wiring.

Strengths-based Coaching: My Coaching is based on Positive Psychology, the science of well-being. Informed by processes and tools that stem from psychological theory and research, I partner with you to reflect on your natural strengths and interests; the challenges you face, and the possible courses of action. I provide space, structure and accountability to support you in the service of your goals and your well-being.

ADHD Education: Trained to understand the the basic brain chemistry behind ADHD, I help shine a light on how your brain works. I understand that certain behaviors are a result of biology which provides context for meaningful discussions.

Personalized Structures: My approach involves employing powerful tools and strategies derived from current ADHD research to shore up the differences in your Executive Functioning. We will experiment with different ways to help you work through the fog or chaos, prioritize tasks and make it less stressful and more enjoyable to see a project or item on your to-do list through to completion.

These elements come together to support you as you work to meet your highest goals and potential.
